Livestock Guardian Dogs

Our livestock guardian dogs guard our flock of 20+ hens

from coyote, brown bears, raccoons, foxes, bobcats, and

cougars here in Northern California.

Our chickens are free-range during the day and

are secured in their coop at night.

Regardless, our dogs protect our chickens 24/7 every day of the year.

Before we had our LGDs, we would have predators

literally tear into the chicken coop for a midnight snack!

The dogs are a cross of Great Pyrenees (France & Spain),

Anatolian Shepherd (Turkey) & Akbash (Turkey)

and are exclusively fed a raw diet blend

of meaty bones, offal & veggies.

Here is more information about our breeding dogs & puppies.

  • ZION

Zion is the sire of our puppies. He is a Great Pyrenees and Akbash cross.

He comes from Blue Oaks Ranch in Grass Valley. He is 115 pounds.

Zion is very observant and has a warm and affectionate personality.

He is also very smart and a quick learner.

He watches over the property closely and has a very gentle nature with the

    poultry & puppies.

  • ASPEN

Aspen is the dam of our puppies. She is a Great Pyrenees, Anatolian Shepherd and Akbash cross.

Small and agile for an LGD, she weighs about 80 pounds. She comes from a small ranch outside of Napa Valley.

She is an extremely alert and hard-working dog, keeping all predators out of the fenced boundaries and alerting us of anything that may be askew.

Her warm and affectionate personality make her easy to love.
